Pending invitations: reminders, resending and automatic removal

See who has not accepted yet, chase them automatically or by hand, and tidy up old invitations.

When you invite someone to a portal, their invitation stays pending until they accept it. This article shows how to see pending invitations, chase them and remove the ones you no longer need.

See who hasn't accepted yet

Open the portal group and click the Users icon next to a portal's name. Manage Portal Access opens. Anyone who hasn't accepted appears under Pending invitations, with the date they were invited.

Resend an invitation by hand

  • One person: in Manage Portal Access, click Send reminder next to their name.

  • Several portals at once: in the portal list, tick the box next to each portal, then click Resend pending invites. Everyone in those portals who hasn't accepted yet gets a fresh invitation.

Chase people automatically

Open the portal group and click Settings > Invitations. Under Invitation reminders, switch on Send automatic reminder, choose how many times and how often (for example 3 times every 2 days), add a Reminder message if you want one, and click Save.

Remove old invitations automatically

On the same page, Remove pending invitations after, days sets how long an invitation lasts (60 days unless you change it). The count starts when the invitation is sent and restarts each time it is reminded, so set it long enough for your reminders to work. A change applies to every pending invitation in the group, including ones already sent. Click Save.

Removed invitations can be sent again at any time: just add the person to the portal again.

Cancel an invitation

In Manage Portal Access, click the red cross next to the pending invitation.

Still not accepted?

The usual reasons are a mistyped email address (we don't report bounced emails) or the invitation landing in spam. See Troubleshooting: a client hasn't received the invitation or can't sign in.
