1. Open the Message page step
Go to Portals, select your portal, open the Workflows tab and open your workflow. Click the "+" button and choose the "Message page" widget, or open an existing Message page step to edit it.
2. Write and format your message
Type your message into the editor and use the formatting controls above it:
Bold, italic and underline for emphasis
Bulleted and numbered lists, for steps or a list of what you need
Links, so your client can open a page without copying an address
Text alignment
A short message with a few clear points reads far better than a long paragraph - lists are worth using whenever you're explaining more than one thing.
3. Optionally, save it as a template
If this is a message you'll send again, save it as a template so you don't have to write it a second time. Give it a name you'll recognise later — "Onboarding welcome" is easier to find than "Message 1".
Next time you add a Message page step, choose your saved template to fill the editor with it. You can edit the text before saving, so a template is a starting point rather than something you're locked into.
What your client sees
When your client reaches this step in the workflow, your message appears with the formatting exactly as you wrote it.
Good to know
Your existing messages still work. Messages written before formatting was available display exactly as they did before - there's nothing to redo.
The custom button is unchanged. If your Message page step has a button with a label and link, it works exactly as before.
