Full Access: includes Move to Bin

Change one person's level

Open the portal group, click the Users icon next to the portal's name, choose a level in the Permissions list next to the person and click Save.

Permissions list in Manage Portal Access

Set the default for new portal users

Open the portal group and click Settings > Security. Default permissions is the level people get when you invite them.

On the same page, Prevent portal users with Read access from downloading files hides the download, export and print controls from Read users. They can still open and view documents. Use it for documents clients should see but not keep, such as draft reports.

Which level should I use?

  • Most clients: Read/Write, so they can upload what you ask for without being able to bin your documents.

  • Viewers (for example a client's adviser who only needs to see the accounts): Read.

  • Full Access only for people you trust to manage the portal's documents, such as a client's finance director.
