If a signer hasn't signed your document yet, we can remind them by email. You can do this in two ways:
Automatic reminders go out on a schedule you set.
Manual reminders go out straight away, for one document or several at once.
Set up automatic reminders for all documents
When you set reminders at account level, every document you send uses the same reminder schedule. These settings also apply to documents sent for signing through our API.
Click the arrow next to your company name at the top left, then select "Settings"
Go to E-signature tab
Switch on "Send automatic reminder".
Choose how many times to repeat the reminder and how often it goes out. For example, "Repeat 2 time(s) every 2 day(s)".
Change reminders for a single document
Your account-wide reminder settings show up in the document viewer when you prepare a document. You can change them for that document only.
Open the document you want to send. Under "Advanced options" on the right, find "Send automatic reminder".
Optionally, switch reminders off or change how many reminders go out (up to 5) and how often.
Click "Send Document".
The reminder settings you chose apply only to this document.
Send a manual reminder for one document
Go to Signatures/Dashboard.
Find your document. Optionally, use the search box or the "Status", "Sender" and "Date" filters to narrow the list.
Click the "i" icon in the "Actions" column. This opens the "Document signing actions" page.
On the card for the signer you want to remind, click "Send reminder".
We email the signer right away.
Send reminders for several documents at once
Go to Signatures/Dashboard
Click the "Status" filter
Select only "Unsigned".
Tick the documents you want to send reminders for.
Click "Send reminder to signers" in the bar that appears above the list.
You'll see a "Reminder sent" message, and your selection clears.
"Send reminder to signers" only appears when "Unsigned" is the one status selected. If you've picked more than one status or none, the button won't show.
Can't see the "i" icon or the "Send reminder" option?
Check the following:
The "Actions" column is hidden. Click "Column settings" on the Dashboard page and make sure "Actions" is switched on. We remember your column choices, so a column hidden once stays hidden.
A filter is hiding your document. Your filters are remembered too. Clear the "Status", "Sender" and "Date" filters, then search for the document again.
The document can no longer be signed. Reminders are only available while a signature is still outstanding. You can't remind a signer on a document that's signed, expired, cancelled or rejected.
You've just edited the signer. If "Send reminder" is greyed out after you changed a signer's details, refresh the page and try again.
Good to know
The reminder email is written by our system, so you can't edit its wording.
